This is the main stairwell of the West Virginia Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV. The wood is mahogany and from the mid 1800.  The banister is still very solid.

There were about 999 wash basins, 999 toilets and 999 doors and more windows.  I would hate clenaing day.
