Fall Color - Pre Sandy

This is a study of dark limbs, framed between two trunks draped in orange and red leaves.

Could not go to Great Falls and get at least one shot of the falls. Again a slice of fall color.

Final study of a brilliant limb just hanging out there. Again, framed between two trunks.

Stairs, stairs, stairs

The lunatic asylum in West Virginia is definitely grungy with significant architectural detail. The first has cast iron stair treads and risers made in the town of Weston and is so marked.

This set of stairs is newer or maybe were replacement stairs which new style treads and risers. Still very grungy.

And lastly but lastly is a look over the edge, not sure how they kept patients from leaping over the standard height banister and going down three flights of stairs.  There is also an elevator behind this location.

Falls color on the Potomac

Friday started off looking like it was going to be a drizzly day but the sun never really came out.  I found this rock wall on the Potomac River that has nice character and green pines mixed in wiht some fall color.

This oak does not show the typic rust brown (yuck) leaves that I usually see.  A combination of reds, oranges, greens and a helping of some yellow make this an interesting study.

The day started off foggy - good day for a trip to the lunatic asylum.....

The shower curtains are missing???  Did they every have any?  I see a lot of paint chips - lead based....  I better go clean my showes....

Just add a steel bed, close the window grill and the room is ready for a guest.......

Fall color and water fall - Great Falls National Park

Back to my photogrpahy after a busy fall doing family stuff. I was able to get out this morning for a light misting and what turned out to just be an overcast day.  Here is a water fall with some nice back color.
